Through her exhilarating tales and teaching, Hackworth encourages everyone to participate in one of the world's oldest art forms.

Dianne Hackworth has captured the imaginations of audiences of all ages with her entertaining yet educational performances and workshops. Her stories ring with wit and wisdom that awaken and mesmerize the listener's sense of wonder. The tales she performs vary from mountain lore to Celtic tales to ballads, but always delight and enchant.

These concerts and performances include not only Appalachian Tales, but also Folk Tales from around the world as well as literary stories and musical tales. Many of the Appalachian Tales she tells originally came from other countries - England, Scotland, Ireland, and Germany. Her performance will also include many musical tales and ballads accompanied on the autoharp.

Dianne has different performances that can be adapted for any age level or age combinations from pre-school through senior citizen. A typical storytelling performance would include stories appropriate for the audience age level(s), audience participatory stories (vocal participation and movement if necessary), and story-songs and ballads for variety. Length of performance is from 30 minutes to 2 hours (with a short break). Multiple performances per day can be arranged.
